Avfuel Corporation is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Pacific Northwest region, specifically targeting candidates based in Washington, Oregon, or Colorado. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 per year and is designed for an outside sales producer who will play a crucial role in expanding Avfuel's aviation supply and services. With a rich history of 50 years in the industry, Avfuel is committed to providing exceptional service to its customers, which include fixed-base operators, airports, corporate flight departments, helicopter operators, commercial airlines, cargo haulers, and government and military entities. The company prides itself on its leadership in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable products within the aviation sector. As a member of the outside sales team, the Area Sales Manager will receive support from knowledgeable colleagues and will have opportunities to learn new skills and expand their knowledge base. The role involves significant travel, with expectations to meet clients and explore new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be proactive in acquiring new accounts, managing existing relationships, and identifying new fuel business opportunities. This position is not just about sales; it’s about building relationships and understanding the unique needs of each customer in the aviation marketplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales targets and forecasts, coordinating activities with other sales departments, and building a comprehensive understanding of individual airport markets and industry trends. Responsibilities

  • Acquiring new accounts and managing existing accounts
  • Identifying and developing new fuel business opportunities
  • Opening additional channels of trade
  • Obtaining order commitments
  • Developing sales targets and forecasts
  • Meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales goals
  • Coordinating activities, opportunities and cross-selling with other sales departments
  • Developing knowledge of individual airport markets and influencers
  • Building a working knowledge of competitor products and services, customer segments and trends affecting the industry
  • Traveling to meet clients and prospects, approximately three days per week every other week

Requirements

  • Experience in prospecting, sales and closing new business
  • Ability to perform calls to generate leads
  • Ability to perform analysis to qualify opportunities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills
  • Prior 3-5 years outside sales experience is a plus; candidates with strong sales potential and a willingness to be mentored may be considered
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Aviation experience preferred, but not required
