About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and managing accounts within assigned market segments to drive revenue for the hotel properties. This role involves prospecting, negotiating, and closing sales for guest rooms, meeting spaces, and food and beverage services, while maintaining high-quality standards and relationships with key clients.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through various efforts including prospecting and sales blitzes.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key accounts and community organizations to increase market share.
  • Ensure accurate information in the property management system.
  • Prepare and process correspondence, contracts, and agendas in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an active sales solicitation program and follow up on leads as directed.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage and Guest Services.
  • Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certification required.
  • Previous hotel sales experience required.
  • Multi-property experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of hotel or customer service experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or extensive experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • Experience with Hilton and Marriott recommended.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel sales for multiple properties.
  • Familiarity with automated sales systems.
