The Software Area Sales Manager (ASM) role at Motorola Solutions is a pivotal position responsible for driving revenue growth through the development and management of software sales in the Northeast Region. This role encompasses a wide range of software products, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Call Handling, and Cloud Services. In this role, the ASM will cultivate strong, trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, such as governors, mayors, and CIOs, to understand their funding needs and influence decision-making processes. The position requires a strategic approach to sales, including the hiring, development, and coaching of a team of enterprise-level sales professionals. The ASM will lead internal teams on critical projects, ensuring clear direction and purpose while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve both order and revenue targets. The ASM will also be responsible for maintaining customer intelligence data within the Motorola CRM system, providing timely and accurate sales forecasts, and driving strategies with government customers to ensure success in the competitive bid environment. This role demands a high level of motivation, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of the public safety sector. The ASM must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and stakeholders.
