About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the Southeast Region at Hitachi Energy USA Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the sales organization and customers throughout the sales process within a designated area. This position reports directly to the Marketing & Sales Manager for Grid Components, focusing on products such as Instrument Transformers, Power Quality Products, Surge Arresters, and Disconnect Switches. The ASM is responsible for driving both new and existing sales, ensuring that the sales organization is well-supported in their efforts to promote Hitachi Energy products. This includes conducting webinars, seminars, presentations, and Lunch & Learns to effectively communicate the value of the products to both internal teams and external customers. In this role, the ASM will influence customer specifications and provide relevant product knowledge to customers and the sales organization. They will collaborate with various teams, including FES, REPS, and the Account organization, to create comprehensive sales plans. The ASM will also be involved in bid operations, analyzing customer needs and competitor offers based on market information and insights from the local sales organization. Efficient marketing actions and communication strategies will be essential to ensure that the local sales organization and customers are well-informed. The ASM will prepare offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager, ensuring that all technical and financial aspects of the offers are appropriately addressed, including pricing and trading conditions. They will manage administrative procedures in the sales process and support collection and project management activities as needed. Additionally, the ASM will communicate the value proposition of Hitachi Energy's products, systems, services, and packages, providing competitive data on the market, products, and competitors, along with clear pricing indicators for projects. Regular communication of details in line with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy, including delivery times, payment terms, and general conditions, will be part of the ASM's responsibilities. They will also provide status reviews and propose recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls, report monthly sales activities, and request sales forecasts. Responsibilities

  • Increase new and existing sales and business by supporting the Sales organization.
  • Promote Hitachi Energy products internally and externally through webinars, seminars, presentations, and Lunch & Learns.

  • Manage technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.
  • Support administrative procedures in sales processes and collection/project management activities.
  • Communicate the value proposition of products, systems, services, and packages.
  • Provide competitive data on market, product, and competitors, along with pricing indicators for projects.
  • Communicate details in accordance with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy.
  • Provide status reviews and propose recovery plans for potential order shortfalls.
  • Report monthly sales activities and customer visits, and request sales forecasts.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in the Power Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
