About the position

The Area Sales Manager for STI in North America is responsible for managing a portfolio of existing OEM customers and developing new sales opportunities within the Instrumentation sector, particularly in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and power industries. This role focuses on building sustainable customer relationships, exceeding sales targets, and maximizing profitable growth for IMI Precision Engineering. The position requires a strong technical understanding of products and applications in the instrumentation market, along with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive bookings and margins in line with IMI forecasts.
  • Proactively work with key valve makers and their supply base to drive product specification.
  • Support the development of new non-traditional markets for instrumentation.
  • Strategically align distributors to increase market share and target new customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of actuators.
  • Customer experience with OEMs.
  • Industry experience within the oil & gas or power/energy industries.
  • Demonstrable technical understanding of products and applications in the instrumentation market.
  • Demonstrable excellence in customer service and relationship building.
  • Influencing skills effective at all levels of management.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%.
