About the position

The Area Sales Manager position at Vertical Beverage Group is a dynamic role focused on driving sales and promoting brand visibility in the Tampa and Sarasota areas. This position requires a proactive individual who is willing to engage with multiple beverage brands and contribute positively to the company's mission of reshaping the beverage landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting daily sales calls to both on-premise and off-premise accounts, ensuring that the brands are well-represented and that sales targets are met. The role involves promoting additional placements and increasing product velocity in the market, which is crucial for the growth of emerging companies into national brands. In addition to sales calls, the Area Sales Manager will be tasked with submitting a weekly schedule that outlines their activities, conducting retail samplings, and executing on-premise promotions. The position also requires the completion and submission of weekly and monthly recaps and reports to track progress and performance. Managing distributor relationships at all levels is a key responsibility, as is reviewing and developing pricing and deal structures to ensure competitiveness in the market. The Area Sales Manager will also manage area budgets related to sales, incentives, sampling, and displays, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively. The role includes responsibilities for completing account surveys as required, managing inventory, and coordinating trends with distributors. Monthly work-with sessions with distributor sales and management, as well as direct management, are essential to ensure alignment and effectiveness in sales strategies. Additionally, the Area Sales Manager will manage and distribute point-of-sale (POS) inventory on a monthly basis to maximize its use in the trade, further enhancing brand visibility and sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily sales calls to on and off premise accounts
  • Promote additional placements and increased velocity
  • Submit a weekly schedule outlining your activity
  • Conduct retail samplings and on premise promotions
  • Complete and submit weekly and monthly recaps and reports
  • Manage Distributor at all levels
  • Review and develop pricing and deal structures
  • Manage area budgets in relation to sales, incentives, sampling and displays
  • Responsible for completing account surveys as required
  • Manage inventory and coordinate trends with Distributor
  • Conduct work-with monthly with distributor sales/management and direct manager as necessary
  • Manage and distribute POS inventory on a monthly basis to maximize use of POS in the trade

Requirements

  • 3+ years sales experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Established relationships in the on and off premise
  • Wine and spirits knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Self motivated
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Good multitasker
  • Smartphone and computer skills essential
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
