About the position

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving growth in the erosion control industry within the designated market. This role involves developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and building strong relationships with clients in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new market development through strategic marketing, cold calling, and prospecting.
  • Manage existing customer accounts daily while building market share.
  • Develop and set sales objectives, sales plans, and annual quotas for the assigned territory.
  • Identify and investigate planned projects before contract award to establish a plan to win future work.
  • Maintain and build a customer base by developing rapport with key clients and establishing new opportunities.
  • Become a trusted expert in the erosion control industry through continuous education and networking.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience in landscaping, erosion control, or construction services.
  • Proven track record of annual growth through new account acquisition and organic growth with existing accounts.
  • Exceptional people and presentation skills.
  • High-producing self-starter who is accountable for daily activities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems.
  • Contacts and ties within the designated market construction services markets for Residential, Commercial, and Municipal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior sales leadership position managing a team of sales professionals.
  • Certification in Erosion and Sediment Control.
