The Area Sales Manager (ASM) at Generac Power Systems is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion within a defined territory. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing sales and regional distribution strategies, coordinating marketing activities with distribution partners, and executing plans to increase market share. This position requires a proactive approach to expanding the customer base and developing business relationships with both direct and indirect customers. The ASM will engage with customers and prospects to foster relationships, instill confidence in the Control & Automation (C&A) group, and ultimately increase profitable business. In this role, the ASM will act as the voice of the customer within the C&A group and represent the C&A group to customers. Responsibilities include promoting existing and new C&A products, liaising with internal functions to ensure high levels of customer service, and staying informed about competitive developments. Conducting market research to understand changing market conditions is also a key aspect of the role. Essential duties include achieving sales targets, arranging and attending customer visits, negotiating sales effectively, and developing strategic relationships within the region. The ASM will provide world-class customer support, work with distributors to enhance market penetration, and coordinate marketing activities with distribution partners. Additionally, the ASM will manage customer data, monitor competitor activity, and report on key performance indicators such as sales targets and product margin improvements.
