About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing independent account business with a focus on profitability through new sales and account penetration. This role involves promoting and selling company-branded products, meeting brand sales objectives, and supporting customer service activities for regional and national chain customers. The position emphasizes teamwork within the department and organization to best serve the company and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Generate additional business by analyzing sales territory and individual customers.
  • Sample products with existing and potential customers.
  • Plan general sales strategy including time and territory management.
  • Plan sales approach with individual customers and conduct effective sales presentations.
  • Grow sales and profit margins to meet established goals.
  • Set up new customer accounts by determining pricing and working with the Credit Department for initial authorization.
  • Perform initial follow-up work with customers to ensure delivery and product satisfaction.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by coordinating efforts with other center personnel to resolve problems.
  • Build additional business with current customers through product penetration.
  • Monitor accounts for compliance with credit terms and follow up on any problems.
  • Maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
  • Valid Driver's License
