About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market share for the Molding Solutions product portfolio within a designated territory. This role requires a proactive approach to developing new accounts while nurturing existing relationships to achieve sales goals. The Area Sales Manager will engage with various stakeholders within customer organizations, including supply chain, quality, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and to provide tailored solutions. The position involves managing direct customer accounts and distributors, providing them with the necessary support to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales performance. In addition to direct sales responsibilities, the Area Sales Manager will be expected to maintain detailed records of customer interactions, including profiles, contact dates, quotes, and follow-ups, utilizing Sales Force CRM tools. The role also includes negotiating pricing and terms in accordance with company policies and objectives, ensuring that the best value is provided to customers. Participation in trade shows is a key aspect of this position, where the Area Sales Manager will represent the company, generate leads, and follow up on potential sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer-focused mindset, with a proven track record of delivering exemplary customer service. They will be adept at building win-win business relationships and coordinating with internal teams to meet sales objectives. The Area Sales Manager will also be expected to present the full capabilities of Molding Solutions in a professional manner, adhering to the company's Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Sell the breadth of the Molding Solutions product portfolio.
  • Grow market share in assigned territory/account targets by leveraging existing accounts and developing new accounts.
  • Achieve sales goals and execute sales plans within assigned sales territory.
  • Develop customer relationships to sell the full portfolio of Molding Solutions products and services.
  • Maintain deep and successful business relationships throughout the customer's organization.
  • Manage and provide support to direct customer accounts and distributors within the assigned region.
  • Provide weekly and monthly internal reports to management.
  • Maintain a regional summary on customer profiles, contact dates, customer quotes, follow-ups, and general correspondence through Sales Force CRM tools.
  • Negotiate the best value for products and services sold in accordance with pricing policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in trade shows to support sales objectives and follow up on potential sales leads generated from these events.
  • Coordinate with support personnel to build a team approach aimed at meeting sales objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Present Molding Solutions' full capabilities and company image in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience preferred but not required.
  • Up to 5 years of hands-on consultative and technical sales expertise in the Injection Molding Industry.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal procedures, instructions, and inquiries from customers.
  • Ability to understand product design, drawings, and specifications to effectively convey knowledge to customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment; ability to learn other software packages and maintain awareness of technology advancements.
  • Experience with Sales Force CRM Software.
  • Ability to interpret customer concepts and make appropriate application suggestions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering (preferred) or demonstrated years of injection molding, tooling, and sales experience.
