About the position

As an Area Sales Manager at Terminix, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the productivity of our sales team within your designated territory. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about sales and leadership, and who thrive in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and presenting new hire training and development programs, ensuring that both new and existing sales colleagues receive the mentoring and coaching they need to excel. Your partnership with the field leadership team will be essential in training and coaching associates to maximize their performance, ultimately driving revenue growth and customer retention. In this role, you will lead a team of frontline sales colleagues, overseeing their hiring, onboarding, training, and engagement. You will facilitate weekly meetings to monitor performance and focus on skill development, while also providing ongoing technical training on the services offered in your territory. Your ability to communicate effectively will be key as you conduct one-on-one debriefs with team members to understand their training needs and provide constructive feedback. You will set a strong example in personal character, commitment, organization, and selling skills, ensuring that your team meets or exceeds all activity standards for Field Sales Colleague performance. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring progress against revenue objectives, collaborating with Operations to align goals, and ensuring that company programs and initiatives are delivered with excellence at the branch level. You will be expected to work in the field with sales colleagues daily, maintaining minimum sales activity requirements and ensuring the proper use of sales materials. This position requires a proactive approach to increasing unit sales and dollars by implementing and enforcing company sales practices, all while maintaining a high standard of management and quality image.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, onboard, train, manage & engage team of frontline sales colleagues in designated area
  • Support collaboration between Sales and Operations within territory
  • Lead weekly meetings with Team to monitor performance and skill development
  • Provide ongoing technical training on services offered in the assigned territory
  • Facilitate one-on-one debriefs with the team to understand training needs
  • Ensure team meets or exceeds activity standards for Field Sales Colleague performance
  • Monitor progress against revenue objectives
  • Serve as steward of the RentokilTerminix business model
  • Monitor and coach team for effective growth and development
  • Plan and organize job-related items for new hires
  • Work with new hires to evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate team training needs for continuous improvement
  • Increase unit sales and dollars by implementing company sales practices
  • Work in the field with sales colleagues daily and maintain sales activity requirements
  • Monitor and ensure proper use of sales materials and inventory

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of Rentokil Terminix experience in designated field
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups
  • Ability to perform basic business mathematics and analyze sales data
  • Ability to acquire licenses/certificates as required by federal, state or local agencies
