As a broadline distributor, Performance Foodservice not only delivers high-quality food products but also provides invaluable support to independent restaurant owners, helping them achieve their business goals through expert advice on operations, menu development, product selection, and strategic planning. This role is pivotal in driving the development of independent account business, focusing on profitability through new sales and account penetration. The position requires a proactive approach to promoting and selling company-branded products while meeting brand sales objectives. Additionally, the role may involve supporting customer service activities for regional and national chain customers, enhancing the company's visibility in the marketplace and maximizing market share. In this position, you will be responsible for generating additional business by analyzing your sales territory and individual customer needs. This includes sampling products with existing and potential customers, planning a comprehensive sales strategy, and conducting effective sales presentations. You will work to grow sales and profit margins continuously, ensuring that established sales and margin goals are met. Setting up new customer accounts will involve determining pricing and collaborating with the Credit Department for initial authorization, as well as coordinating with other personnel for order-taking and deliveries. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will ensure this by providing exemplary service and working closely with other team members to resolve any issues that may arise. In emergency situations, you may also be responsible for making deliveries to ensure customer needs are met promptly. Furthermore, you will focus on building additional business with current customers through product penetration, thereby maximizing the profitability of individual accounts. Monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms will help minimize accounts receivable problems, and maintaining awareness of pricing trends within your sales territory will ensure competitive pricing for market-driven products.
