About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is a remote role responsible for executing the sales strategy in Kansas and Colorado. The ASM serves as the primary contact for assigned member-owners and customers, providing leadership and coaching to maximize profitability and growth across all product and service categories. This position involves building long-term relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct coaching of field staff within the assigned territory.
  • Attract, develop, and manage the sales team, providing ongoing feedback to retain critical talent.
  • Set reasonable sales targets and hold team members accountable to meet strategic imperatives.
  • Align the team around the value proposition, including brand strategies and digital technology.
  • Monitor performance and motivate team members to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain commercial relationships with key partners and manufacturers.
  • Manage and grow the WinField United business by setting a sales strategy that meets customer needs.
  • Lead the development and execution of Account Plans for assigned owners.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through structured delivery plans.
  • Manage successful partner relationships and align the team with channel partners to drive sales growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business management, or an agricultural-related field.
  • 10 years of industry or direct sales/marketing experience with customer contact.
  • 1-2 years of people leadership experience or equivalent experience of 14 years with 3+ years in leadership.
  • Proven sales experience with a track record of growth in value-added product sales.
  • Experience delivering customer-oriented solutions that drive positive sales results.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing business plans and budgets.
  • Broad understanding of the cooperative system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sector-specific sales experience is preferred.
