This role is pivotal in developing independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through new sales and account penetration. The position involves promoting and selling company-branded products while meeting brand sales objectives. Additionally, the role may support customer service activities for regional and national chain customers, enhancing the company's visibility in the marketplace and maximizing market share. In this position, the individual will be responsible for generating additional business by analyzing the sales territory and individual customers. This includes sampling products with existing and potential customers, planning a general sales strategy, and conducting effective sales presentations. The goal is to grow sales and profit margins continuously to meet established sales and margin goals. The role also involves setting up new customer accounts, determining pricing, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth order-taking and deliveries. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and the individual will work closely with other center personnel to resolve any issues that arise. The position requires a proactive approach to building additional business with current customers through product penetration, thereby maximizing the profitability of individual accounts. Monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms is essential to minimize accounts receivable problems. The individual will also need to maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly for market-driven and commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary to best serve the company.
