About the position

Eaton's North American Sales division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join their team. This role will be based in either Orlando, FL or Deerfield Beach, FL, with relocation assistance provided for candidates outside of a 50-mile radius of these locations. The Area Sales Manager will focus on electrical distribution products in the commercial, residential, and construction markets. This position presents a unique opportunity to lead a high-performance team and expand Eaton's market share in Florida. In this role, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a customer base, sales resources, products, and channels to market to achieve planned results for the district. The individual will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales representatives, and the distributor channel. Expected results include growth in sales and market share, channel development, and talent development within the district. The position requires the ability to navigate and cooperate with plant operations to meet and exceed customer urgent requests, develop employee talent for future success, and grow existing channel relationships. The Area Sales Manager will also need to have a strong knowledge of managing products, product applications, and distribution channels. The role involves negotiating, coping with ambiguity, working through complex problems, and managing conflict. A technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the respective product category is essential. The individual will be expected to execute and communicate a compelling value proposition and strategy both internally and externally, influencing without authority in a matrix environment and maintaining a professional presence in challenging sales situations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Manager of people experience.
  • 10+ years of electrical industry sales experience.
