About the position

As an Area Sales Manager in New Orleans, LA, you will play a pivotal role in leading a high-performing team dedicated to driving overall sales and achieving budget targets for your Area Team. This position is not just about meeting sales goals; it involves developing, coaching, and teaching a team of Retail Sales leads. You will engage in weekly ride days to foster staff development, ensuring that your team is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles. The position requires significant travel, approximately 60%, and the ideal candidate will reside in the New Orleans, LA, Jackson, MS, or Memphis, TN areas. Your responsibilities will cover a wide geography, including territories in Little Rock, Memphis, Birmingham, Montgomery, Tallahassee, Mobile, Jackson, Baton Rouge, Beaumont, and Shreveport. This is a salaried position with the added incentive of quarterly bonus opportunities. You will have the flexibility to choose from one of our Fleet Program options, which includes a company car with insurance and a gas card or an auto vehicle reimbursement plan that allows you to use your own vehicle for business purposes. Additionally, you will receive a monthly stipend for cell phone usage, ensuring you stay connected while on the go. In this role, you will be responsible for driving results by coaching and developing your team of 11 Retail Sales Leads to achieve key performance metrics. These metrics include managing the Point of Sale (POS) budget, ensuring adequate call coverage, and maintaining a “perfect shelf” strategy. You will also be involved in selling, negotiating, and executing business plans by collaborating with decision-makers and utilizing business intelligence data to craft compelling selling narratives that drive growth for both your customers and Kellanova. Leveraging data will be crucial as you track KPIs, achieve goals, and identify areas for improvement. Furthermore, you will present business reviews to senior leadership, showcasing your team's performance and contributions to the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 11 Retail Sales Leads to achieve key performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Significant sales experience combined with people leadership experience, ideally in the Consumer Product Goods industry.
  • Account management experience at the headquarters, district, region, or market level.
  • Strong understanding of analytics and ability to use multiple sources to build a selling story.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to drive to multiple locations.
  • Must have 2 or fewer moving violations within the last 36 months.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
