About the position

Western Funding, a dynamic and fast-growing auto finance company, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal as it serves as the face of the company to our primary customers—our dealers. The Area Sales Manager will focus on increasing the number of funded deals by partnering with dealers who align with our business model. This position requires a consultative sales and management approach, emphasizing the establishment of strong relationships with dealers to help them understand how our financing programs can enhance their business growth. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing dealer relationships within your designated region. You will present and communicate our products and services to all levels of management within both independent and franchise dealerships. This role involves proactive outreach to sales prospects, following up on leads, and maintaining effective communication with dealer partners regarding current programs. Training dealers on the necessary documentation for fast funding of contracts is also a key responsibility. The position is full-time and requires a significant amount of travel, up to 75%, as you will be visiting auto dealers across your region. New hire training will be provided to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this role. You will be part of a supportive team that encourages overcoming sales barriers and achieving success in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within Independent and Franchise Dealerships in person.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned to you.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from telephone calls for Independent and Franchise dealers.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow current and potential dealer partners within the Independent and Franchise Dealer communities.
  • Maintain constant and effective communication, via phone calls or in person, with dealer partners on current programs.
  • Train dealers in Western Funding, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive, Finance, and Sales
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services Sector or within a Car Dealership
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology
  • Results-oriented, able to get things done in alignment with company objectives
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time.
