About the position

At Capital Electric, we are looking for a dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the D.C. Area. This role is pivotal in determining the direction and scope of our sales force, ensuring that we compete successfully in the market while meeting the needs of our customers. As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selecting, training, motivating, and supporting the sales team. You will set sales revenue targets, create sales forecasts, and develop comprehensive sales plans to drive our business forward. In this position, you will manage the productivity of the sales force, setting clear expectations and monitoring their performance. Your leadership will be crucial in motivating and mentoring sales associates, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their potential. You will have full P&L responsibility for your territory, which includes developing strong customer relationships through regular joint calls with end users and frequent visits to our branches. Additionally, you will manage district sales expense budgets and oversee pricing strategies for our customers. Collaborating closely with Branch Managers, you will assist in executing sales strategies and operational activities in assigned area branches, ensuring that we achieve our financial performance goals. Your role will also involve managing and growing relationships with our vendor partners, which is essential for our continued success in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the productivity of the sales force

Requirements

  • 5+ years electrical distribution industry with experience leading multimillion dollars in sales
  • 7+ years of Outside Sales experience with experience selling to industrial and contractor customers preferred
  • Must have strong leadership skill with ability to drive sales success
  • Experience managing a P&L is desired
  • Experience managing multiple branch locations is desired
  • Computer literate and Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience using Eclipse is a plus
