About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Western Funding Inc. plays a crucial role in the company's mission to assist dealer partners throughout North America. This position is designed for individuals who possess the vision and dedication necessary to help dealers sell more vehicles by financing more customers. As the face of the company to its primary customers—dealers—the Area Sales Manager is responsible for increasing the number of funded deals by establishing partnerships with dealers that align with the company's goals. In this role, the Area Sales Manager will focus on growth by identifying, onboarding, and managing relationships with dealers in their designated region. The position requires a consultative sales and management approach, emphasizing the importance of building strong relationships with dealers who can benefit from Western Funding's programs. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive external sales team, receiving comprehensive training to ensure they are well-equipped to perform effectively in the field. The Area Sales Manager will engage in various activities, including presenting company products and services to dealership management, identifying and contacting sales prospects, following up on leads, and training dealers on the necessary documentation for fast funding of contracts. This full-time position requires a commitment to travel, as the Area Sales Manager will be expected to visit auto dealers frequently, with travel expectations up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within Independent and Franchise Dealerships live-in person
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned to you
  • Follow-up on new leads and referrals resulting from telephone calls for Independent and Franchise dealers
  • Develop, maintain and grow current and potential dealer partners within the Independent and Franchise Dealer communities
  • Constant and effective communication, via phone calls or in person, with dealer partners on current programs
  • Train dealers in Western Funding including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive, Finance and Sales
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services Sector or within a Car Dealership
  • 1-2 years previous experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success
  • Clear and effective presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology
  • Results orientation: getting things done in alignment with company objectives
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time, due to visiting Auto Dealers
