About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Western Funding Inc. plays a crucial role in the company's mission to assist dealer partners throughout North America by providing automobile financing solutions. This position is designed for individuals who possess the vision and dedication necessary to help dealers sell more vehicles by financing more customers. As the face of the company to its primary customers—dealers—the Area Sales Manager is responsible for increasing the number of funded deals by establishing partnerships with dealers that align with the company's goals. In this role, the Area Sales Manager will focus on growth by identifying, onboarding, and managing dealer relationships within their designated region. The position requires a consultative sales and management approach, emphasizing the importance of building strong relationships with dealers who can benefit from Western Funding's programs. Success in this role hinges on the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate how the financing solutions can enhance the dealers' business operations. The Area Sales Manager will undergo comprehensive training to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field. This training is designed to ensure that new hires are well-prepared to navigate the challenges of the role and to foster a supportive team environment that encourages overcoming sales barriers. The position is full-time and requires a willingness to work remotely and travel extensively, as the Area Sales Manager will be visiting auto dealers regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within Independent and Franchise Dealerships in person.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned to you.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from telephone calls for Independent and Franchise dealers.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow current and potential dealer partners within the Independent and Franchise Dealer communities.
  • Maintain constant and effective communication, via phone calls or in person, with dealer partners on current programs.
  • Train dealers in Western Funding, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive, Finance, and Sales.
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services Sector or within a Car Dealership.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success.
  • Clear and effective presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques.
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology.
  • Results-oriented: getting things done in alignment with company objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time due to visiting auto dealers.
