About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and managing total operations in a retail store environment and territory. This role involves overseeing various retail operations, ensuring stores meet and exceed sales expectations, and creating an engaging experience for customers and associates. The successful candidate will be an excellent leader, KPI driven, high energy, and consumer focused, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and manage total operations in a retail store environment and territory.
  • Manage various retail operations and ensure stores meet sales expectations.
  • Create an engaging and fun experience for customers and a rewarding opportunity for associates.
  • Communicate sales and KPI goals and report results daily.
  • Monitor sales on a daily basis and meet with store managers to review sales reports.
  • Manage cost and labor by reviewing schedules and inventory.
  • Evaluate operations, cleanliness, and efficiency of each store.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new managers in their direct area.
  • Facilitate teamwork and regulate team meetings.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Work with HR on employee relations, disciplinary issues, and terminations.
  • Be accountable for cash handling and deposits.
  • Assist with building and breaking down kiosks and in-line locations.
  • Protect inventory by maintaining appropriate receiving, markdown, and POS processes.

Requirements

  • Proven successful experience as a retail senior manager with a sales focus.
  • 3+ years of retail experience and management experience.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and create a customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about leadership with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • High integrity, accountability, and reliability.
  • Knowledge in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
  • Excellent knowledge of retail management POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Able to perform basic math functions and stand for several hours a day.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing multiple retail locations.
  • Familiarity with general retail software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
