About the position

As the Area Sales Manager at Great Day Improvements, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitable sales growth within a designated territory. This position is not just about managing; it is a working, in-field role that requires you to actively engage with the sales process and the sales team. You will be responsible for training both new and existing sales staff on a step-driven sales process, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. Your leadership will be crucial in promoting the growth of Patio Enclosures sunrooms and Stanek window products across all markets. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to identify successes and deficiencies within the sales organization. You will work together to establish effective sales processes that cultivate high-performance sales representatives at each location within your assigned area. Your responsibilities will include supporting the hiring and training of new sales representatives, contributing to the development of training and education programs, and ensuring that the sales team has all the resources they need to perform effectively. You will also be tasked with monitoring the achievement of sales objectives, conducting sales ride-alongs to assess training and development needs, and providing actionable insights for improving the sales process. Investigating lost sales opportunities and analyzing competition will be part of your duties, as will preparing action plans to enhance sales performance. Your feedback to the RSM regarding branch and individual sales performance will be vital in maintaining high standards and achieving company goals. Additionally, you will assist the RSM in various HR functions related to the sales personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for sales performance in assigned area
  • Champion the sales process within the company and branch organizations in assigned area
  • Travel to branches as needed to conduct training and coaching and assist with new rep onboarding
  • Ensure sales team has all necessary resources to perform properly
  • Monitor the achievement of sales objectives by the sales team
  • Conduct sales ride-alongs with all sales reps to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales process
  • Assist sales reps in preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Investigate lost sales opportunities and the competition in all locations
  • Prepare action plans for individuals as well as locations to improve sales performance in order to attain company goals
  • Provide timely feedback to RSM regarding branch and individual sales performance
  • Work with Regional Sales Manager to ensure they are following sales management best practices (sales meetings, ride-alongs, sales recap reviews, customer follow-up)
  • Assist RSM in the recruiting, hiring, appraisal, disciplining, and termination of all sales personnel
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team

Requirements
