About the position

ID Technology is seeking a talented Area Sales Manager to contribute to the overall success of the company by proactively developing leads, establishing and maintaining excellent customer relations, and selling company products and services within the Upper Midwest Region. This role is crucial for increasing the profitability of that region. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selling ID Technology products, which include label, coding, and marking equipment, labels, and ribbons. You will develop new accounts while maintaining existing relationships in an ethical and profitable manner. Supporting national accounts as required and following up on company-supplied leads in a timely manner are also key responsibilities. In this position, you will maintain a prospect-customer database and prepare proposals and quotes for prospects within the company's standard guidelines. You will be expected to develop reports in accordance with company reporting mechanisms and attend trainings and meetings as required by leadership. Staying current on market and technical trends is essential to ensure you can effectively meet customer needs and match them with the appropriate company products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a college education or proven sales experience with documented success. You should have the ability to identify customer needs and match their solutions with company offerings. Strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office, is required, along with the ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to visit prospective clients, current customers, and vendors. A dependable vehicle and a good driving record are necessary for this role. Self-motivation, a strong desire for personal and professional growth, and excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills are also essential to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Sell ID Technology products including label, coding & marking equipment, labels, and ribbons
  • Develop new and maintain existing account relations in an ethical and profitable manner
  • Support national accounts as required
  • Follow up on company-supplied leads in a timely manner
  • Maintain a prospect-customer database
  • Prepare proposals & quotes for prospects within the company's standard guidelines
  • Develop reports in keeping with company reporting mechanisms
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required by leadership

Requirements

  • College education or proven sales experience and documented success
  • Ability to identify customer needs and match their solution with company product/services
  • Knowledge of industry and applications
  • Computer literacy, especially with MS Office
  • Ability to be on the road visiting prospective clients, current customers, vendors, etc. approximately 50% of the time
