This role is pivotal in developing independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through new sales and account penetration. The position involves promoting and selling company-branded products while meeting brand sales objectives. Additionally, the role may support customer service activities for regional and national chain customers, enhancing the company's visibility in the marketplace and maximizing market share. In this position, you will be responsible for generating additional business by analyzing your sales territory and individual customers. This includes sampling products with existing and potential customers, planning a general sales strategy, managing your time and territory effectively, and conducting impactful sales presentations. You will work to grow sales and profit margins continuously to meet established goals. Setting up new customer accounts will involve determining pricing, collaborating with the Credit Department for initial authorization, and coordinating with other personnel for order-taking and deliveries. Ensuring customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will work closely with other center personnel to resolve any issues that arise. Your responsibilities will also include building additional business with current customers through product penetration to maximize profitability. Monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms will help minimize accounts receivable problems. Staying aware of pricing trends within your sales territory, especially for market-driven and commodity products, is essential to ensure competitive pricing.
