About the position

At Capital Electric, we are seeking a dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the Baltimore, MD area. This role is pivotal in determining the direction and scope of our sales force, ensuring that we compete successfully in the market while meeting the needs of our customers. As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selecting, training, motivating, and supporting the sales team, setting sales revenue targets, and developing comprehensive sales plans. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the productivity of the sales force and fostering a culture of success and accountability. In this position, you will manage the productivity of the sales force by setting clear expectations and monitoring performance. You will motivate and mentor sales associates, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their potential. Full territory P&L responsibility will be part of your role, requiring you to develop strong customer relationships through regular joint calls with end users and consistent branch visitation. You will also manage district sales expense budgets and oversee pricing strategies for our customers. Additionally, you will assist Branch Managers with sales and operational activities in assigned area branches, executing sales strategies, achieving financial performance, and developing employees to meet company goals. Building and managing relationships with our vendor partners will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that we maintain strong partnerships that benefit our customers and our business.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years electrical distribution industry with experience leading multimillion dollars in sales
  • 7+ years of Outside Sales experience with experience selling to industrial and contractor customers preferred
  • Must have strong leadership skill with ability to drive sales success
  • Experience managing a P&L is desired
  • Experience managing multiple branch locations is desired
  • Computer literate and Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience using Eclipse is a plus
