About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Eurofins is responsible for developing and executing a territory business plan aimed at promoting and selling the Diatherix Eurofins product line. This role is crucial for meeting the territory sales targets for the assigned region and involves identifying and developing new client opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will utilize the Diatherix Eurofins sales approach to effectively sell the products and educate customers on their value, demonstrating the return on investment (ROI) and the importance of partnering with customers to create applicable solutions. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Area Sales Manager will prioritize project planning, manage customer requests and deadlines, and ensure organized territory management. This includes developing a thorough understanding of selling skills, sales forecasting, and budget tracking, while also monitoring and evaluating competitive services, pricing, and other market activities. The role requires delivering coherent oral and written communications and collaborating with marketing and other sales teams to implement effective sales and marketing plans. Customer satisfaction is a key focus, and the Area Sales Manager must provide prompt resolutions to customer problems or concerns, upholding the Diatherix quality policy and compliance guidelines. Continuous personal development and learning are also emphasized, with attendance at required sales training, seminars, and trade shows being essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory business plan for sales.
  • Sell and promote the Diatherix Eurofins product line to meet sales targets.
  • Identify and develop new client opportunities in the assigned region.
  • Utilize the Diatherix Eurofins sales approach to educate customers on product value.
  • Demonstrate ROI and the importance of partnering with customers for solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitive services, pricing, and market activities.
  • Deliver coherent oral and written communications to clients and teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to implement sales and marketing plans.
  • Provide prompt resolutions to customer problems or concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Attend required sales training, seminars, and trade shows for continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in biological sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.) with strong quantitative skills.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience selling pharmaceuticals, laboratory services, or medically-related services to the outpatient physician market.
  • Experience selling molecular diagnostics in the outpatient physician market is a plus.
  • Success in calling on Pediatricians, GI, Family Practice, and Primary Care preferred.
  • Business to Business sales experience involving cold calling for new business is preferred.
  • Knowledge related to PCR, Infection prevention and control, and antimicrobials is a plus.
  • Must have a positive, winning attitude and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage change effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently in a large territory and produce sales growth while maintaining existing accounts.
  • Must be team-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the outpatient physician market is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PCR and infection control is beneficial.
