About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for managing and leading the sales efforts in the Baltimore market, focusing on both large and small store businesses. This role involves executing business plans, achieving revenue goals, and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ASM will coach and develop District Sales Managers, drive market share growth, and ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches, teaches, and trains District Sales Managers to successfully deliver results.
  • Drives RED improvement and collaborates with Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) and other key stakeholders to grow market share and develop teammates.
  • Fosters a fun, results-driven work environment that achieves its results in a safe, professional, and ethical environment.
  • Provides honest assessments of team members for effectiveness and development and resources for learning to create strategic developmental plans necessary to support continuous improvement and career growth opportunities.
  • Owns customer service, relationships, and growth with internal and external stakeholders through the establishment of positive, profitable, selling relationships with key customers.
  • Leads the strengthening of community relationships through collaboration and sharing of best practices within the industry.
  • Defines Look of Success (LOS) and ensures understanding through effective communication and establishment of accountability of team members while tracking and reporting results accurately.
  • Delivers operating plan by managing all relevant activities, including administrative duties to support the business plan.
  • Leads cross-functional collaboration by partnering with other functional departments to ensure shared expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Establishes management routines to ensure communication between all departments is maintained.
  • Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines.
  • Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree strongly preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • 7 years progressive management experience in the soft drink, beverage industry, or related industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sales management skills.
  • Excellent PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge acquired through 5 to 7 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred but not required.
