About the position

The Area Sales Manager will play a crucial role in soliciting and managing inquiries for group bookings exceeding 10 guestrooms per night. This position focuses on building long-term, value-based relationships with customers to achieve optimal sales objectives while delivering tailored solutions and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and create new contacts and develop sales leads through various methods including phone solicitation, sales calls, and trade shows.
  • Respond to sales inquiries and contact potential clients to build and nurture lasting business relationships.
  • Analyze the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, to strategically sell against competition.
  • Understand hotel amenities and provide recommendations to create authentic experiences for groups.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Create, execute, and support the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals and writing contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, including appointments, calls made, and business leads.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members and create memorable experiences for guests.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate guest needs to staff and management.
  • Conduct property site tours showcasing hotel features tailored to customer needs.
  • Attend all meetings as assigned by sales leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of previous hotel operations or sales experience required.
  • Proficient working knowledge of computers in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to learn and master TripleSeat (CRM) and Fosse (PMS) systems.
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail in managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven sales and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams across multiple properties.
