About the position

The Area Sales Manager will lead sales efforts across designated territories for a wholesale hat distributor in San Marcos, CA. This role is focused on managing and supporting the sales team, developing strategic account plans, and building strong relationships with key accounts to drive sales growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support key account managers, in-house sales reps, and partner sales agencies.
• Mentor and develop the sales team.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, set team goals, and provide actionable feedback to promote growth and accountability.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key accounts.
• Develop strategic account plans to drive sales.
• Negotiate contracts, sales terms, and conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the retail or wholesale industry.
• Proven experience managing sales teams and achieving targets.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and visit partner locations.
