About the position

Andersen Corporation is seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead and manage a team of account managers in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role is pivotal in driving sales performance and ensuring that the team aligns with the company's strategic goals. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for providing clear, actionable expectations and direction to the team, influencing their behavior to win business for Andersen. The successful candidate will model and coach the 'Andersen Way' of selling, focusing on developing the selling skills and professional capabilities of account managers to help them realize their full potential and grow their careers within the company. In collaboration with regional leaders and other stakeholders, the Area Sales Manager will develop a holistic growth strategy for the area, aimed at driving incremental growth. This includes delivering a world-class customer experience and fostering high customer lifetime value relationships through effective team selling. The role requires the ability to navigate and implement national and regional strategies at the local level, ensuring that a diverse team of roles and skills can execute effectively. The Area Sales Manager will coach direct reports through regular one-on-one meetings, in-person territory visits, and team meetings, ensuring they understand their potential and readiness for future roles. The position also involves managing pipeline performance using CRM tools and technology, promoting consultative selling, and leading change initiatives to align the team with the company's mission and business results. The role requires a strong focus on collaboration with other functional leaders to support the area and drive effective business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deploy account managers in the area to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide clear expectations and direction to the team to influence behavior and win business.
  • Model and coach the 'Andersen Way' of selling to develop account managers' skills.
  • Develop a holistic growth strategy in collaboration with regional and audience leaders.
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience through effective team selling.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team meetings to coach direct reports.
  • Utilize CRM and technology for pipeline management and decision-making.
  • Promote and lead change initiatives to align the team with business results.
  • Synthesize data to develop a responsive Market Area Plan and growth strategy.
  • Foster collaboration with other functional leaders to support business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field or 5 years equivalent experience in sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and manage a geographically dispersed team.
  • Experience in managing sales processes and leveraging CRM for pipeline management.
  • Strong knowledge of sales cycles and their impact on planning and pipeline.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills for engaging with teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex business concepts and develop strategic plans.
  • Proven customer-facing experience in sales, customer experience, and marketing.
