About the position

The Area Sales Manager at The Erosion Company (TEC) is responsible for driving growth in the Alabama territories, focusing on erosion control and site compliance services. This role requires a proactive approach to market development, client engagement, and relationship building with various stakeholders in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, capable of managing existing accounts while pursuing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new market development through strategic marketing, cold calling, and prospecting in assigned territories.
  • Manage existing customer accounts daily while building market share and position.
  • Develop and set sales objectives, sales plans, and annual quotas for the territory.
  • Identify and investigate planned projects prior to contract award to establish a plan for winning future work.
  • Maintain and build a customer base by developing strong rapport with key clients and establishing new opportunities.
  • Become a trusted expert in the erosion control industry through continuous education and networking.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience in landscaping, erosion control, or construction services.
  • Proven track record of annual growth through new account acquisition and organic growth with existing accounts.
  • Exceptional people and presentation skills.
  • High-producing self-starter who is accountable for daily activities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and current contacts in the Alabama construction services market.

Nice-to-haves

  • Construction Services background.
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com; Lightning preferred.
  • Ties to local Chamber of Commerce and related professional associations.
  • Prior sales leadership experience managing a team of sales professionals.
  • Certification in Erosion and Sediment Control.
