About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Throop Rock Bit will oversee sales activities for drill bits in the West Texas region, focusing on building client relationships, expanding market share, and providing exceptional customer service to oilfield operators and drilling contractors. This role requires a strong understanding of the oil & gas industry and a proven sales record to drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet revenue goals and expand market share in the Midland-Odessa and West Texas region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with oilfield operators, drilling contractors, and service companies.
  • Provide technical expertise on drill bits, understanding clients' drilling needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting new clients and expanding existing accounts.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure client satisfaction by resolving product issues and offering ongoing support.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sales within the oil & gas industry, ideally with a focus on drill bits or downhole products.
  • Strong understanding of drilling processes, drill bit technologies, and oilfield operations.
  • Proven ability to close deals and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
