About the position

The Area Sales & Service Manager at Sage Hospitality is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing existing hotel accounts through a profitable and win-win selling approach. This role involves a combination of sales, marketing, and customer service, ensuring that all client needs are met while promoting the hotel’s offerings. The position requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to all customer inquiries.
  • Negotiate and capture all profitable Rooms & Catering business.
  • Provide marketing collateral to clients and guests.
  • Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to potential clients.
  • Coordinate all details pertaining to room lists and billing.
  • Educate Event Planners on hotel procedures.
  • Coordinate all details to appear on each 'Event Order.'
  • Distribute final Rooming Lists and Banquet Event Orders to service staff.
  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Entertain qualified potential clients.
  • Document and report all sales activities accurately.
  • Maintain an active list of top accounts for relationship building.
  • Perform other services and duties as requested.
  • Host functions and participate in sales blitzes as needed.
  • Sell and service small group business and catering for 12 people or less.
  • Solicit, close, and contract wedding business.
  • Attend networking events to build brand awareness.
  • Partner with Banquet & Culinary teams to exceed customer expectations.
  • Monitor client satisfaction scores and lead by example.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Marketing experience in the travel and tourism industry is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills for negotiation and influence.
  • Ability to manage extensive amounts of information.
  • Knowledge of sales procedures in the hotel industry.
  • Excellent written and spoken presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
