About the position

The Sales Manager at Courtyard Denver Downtown is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing existing hotel accounts through a profitable and collaborative selling approach. This role involves engaging with clients, coordinating event details, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences while contributing to a dynamic team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to all customer inquiries.
  • Negotiate and capture all profitable Rooms & Catering business.
  • Provide marketing collateral to clients and guests, including menus and meeting room layouts.
  • Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to potential clients.
  • Coordinate all details pertaining to room lists, including types and locations.
  • Educate Event Planners on hotel procedures and available services.
  • Coordinate details for each Event Order, including set-up specifications and billing details.
  • Distribute final Rooming Lists and Banquet Event Orders to service staff.
  • Conduct site inspections and entertain qualified potential clients.
  • Document and report all sales activities in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an active list of top accounts for relationship building.
  • Sell and service small group business and catering for 12 people or less.
  • Solicit, close, and contract wedding business using strong negotiating skills.
  • Attend networking events to build brand awareness.
  • Partner with Banquet & Culinary teams to exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate event details with team members for effective execution.
  • Monitor client satisfaction scores and lead by example.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge of hotel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities and information.
  • Must possess strong communication skills for negotiation and influence.
  • Ability to drive for outside sales calls.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy for developing marketing plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Marketing experience in the travel and tourism industry is desirable.
