About the position

The Area Supervisor at Ross Stores, Inc. is a key member of the Store Leadership team responsible for overseeing a specific area of the store and managing general operations when acting as the Manager on Duty. This role involves ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, supervising associates, maintaining merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes. The Area Supervisor plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by practicing safe behaviors and addressing unsafe conditions.
• Supervise associates and ensure a friendly shopping atmosphere.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain cleanliness in the store.
• Execute and supervise company operational processes as needed.
• Manage front end operations, including training associates on cash registers and customer service standards.
• Oversee fitting room maintenance and compliance with company policies.
• Conduct administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including payroll administration and cash handling.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
