About the position

The Area Vice President of Operations for Everstory Partners is a leadership role focused on managing operations within the Baltimore/DC market. This position requires relocation and involves developing and managing teams, driving financial performance, and ensuring service excellence across multiple locations. The role emphasizes strategic planning, operational performance measurement, and fostering a culture of excellence among employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage leaders with empathy to maximize the potential of direct reports through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Measure operational performance, identify underperforming metrics, and generate strategic solutions to drive profitability.
  • Promote service excellence by holding teams accountable for implementing best practices and providing necessary support.
  • Drive financial performance through sales growth and expense management to achieve net operating income growth.
  • Create and implement business plans to maintain high sales growth and customer service satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of excellence through training programs, employee meetings, and performance management.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and manage performance of General Managers and their teams.
  • Collaborate with Support Center departments on marketing, pricing, and performance analysis initiatives.
  • Ensure infrastructure and capital projects are well managed and completed on time.
  • Travel to properties regularly to maintain service levels and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred but not required.
  • 5-7 years of direct sales and operations management experience, preferably in the cemetery industry.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Multi-site management experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving profitable sales growth and managing change dynamics.
  • Experience managing an effective sales team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams across multiple departments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust with stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service skills and critical thinking skills for operational challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and P&L software.
