About the position

The Area Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Highgate Hotels is responsible for leading and driving revenue strategies for assigned hotels in the New York region. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing competitive hotel analysis, and directing the property Directors of Sales & Marketing. The position reports to the EVP of Sales & Marketing and has a dotted line to the EVP Operations - New York, ensuring effective oversight of sales and marketing efforts for Highgate's managed hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales revenue maximization plans for all segments and channels to increase market share.
  • Lead and motivate sales teams to achieve targets.
  • Understand competitive landscapes and evaluate group pace and key sales metrics.
  • Design sales deployment strategies and set measurable goals, including implementing sales incentive plans.
  • Manage key accounts and develop marketing plans while overseeing expense budgets.
  • Schedule and manage sales activities and travel for the team.
  • Analyze STR, Hotelligence 360, and financial reports to inform strategies.
  • Oversee marketing communications related to branding, public relations, eCommerce, and social media.
  • Collaborate with hotel General Managers and teams, operations, revenue management, and development/acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as a sales leader in an above property position.
  • Regional or Multi-Unit sales oversight experience required.
  • Prior track record as a Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing in major markets.
  • Experience dealing with ownership groups and asset management.
  • Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate, and drive a team of Directors of Sales & Marketing.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
