About the position

The Area Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading and driving top-line revenue strategies for assigned hotels within the New York region. This role involves staying ahead of market trends, conducting competitive hotel analysis, and directing the property Director of Sales & Marketing. The position reports to the EVP of Sales & Marketing and has a dotted line to the EVP Operations - New York, overseeing sales and marketing for Highgate's managed hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales revenue maximization plans for all segments and channels to increase market share.
  • Lead and motivate sales teams to achieve targets.
  • Understand competitive set landscapes and mapping in various sub-regions.
  • Evaluate group pace and position reports along with key sales metrics.
  • Design sales deployment and set goals, implementing sales incentive plans.
  • Manage key accounts and develop marketing plans with budget oversight.
  • Schedule and manage sales activities and travel.
  • Analyze STR, Hotelligence 360, and financial reports/data.
  • Oversee marketing communications related to branding, public relations, eCommerce, and social media.
  • Collaborate with ownership and asset management groups during hotel launches and transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as a sales leader in an above property position.
  • Regional or Multi-Unit sales oversight experience required.
  • Prior track record as a Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing in major markets.
  • Experience dealing with and communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
  • Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate, and drive a team of DOSMs.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $190,000 to $210,000 + Bonus + Benefits
