About the position

The Area Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Highgate Hotels is responsible for leading and driving revenue strategies for assigned hotels, focusing on maximizing sales across various segments and channels. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing competitive hotel analysis, and overseeing the Director of Sales & Marketing at each property. The position requires collaboration with hotel management and a strong understanding of the hospitality market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales revenue maximization plans for all segments and channels to increase market share.
  • Lead and motivate sales teams to achieve revenue goals.
  • Evaluate group pace and position reports along with key sales metrics.
  • Design sales deployment strategies and set measurable goals, including implementing sales incentive plans.
  • Manage key accounts and develop marketing plans while overseeing expense budgets.
  • Schedule and manage sales activities and travel for the team.
  • Analyze STR, Hotelligence 360, and financial reports to inform sales strategies.
  • Oversee marketing communications related to branding, public relations, eCommerce, and social media.
  • Collaborate with ownership and asset management groups, especially during new hotel launches and transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as a sales leader in an above property position.
  • Regional or Multi-Unit sales oversight experience required.
  • Prior track record as a Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing in major markets.
  • Experience dealing with ownership groups and asset management.
  • Collaborative experience with revenue management teams.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate, and drive a team of DOSMs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
