About the position

We are looking for Arena Operations Technicians to join our Intuit Dome team! The Arena Operations Technician is responsible for carrying out processes for back-of-house operations to ensure Intuit Dome always operates optimally. As an Arena Ops Tech, you will support all events within the Intuit Dome property and grounds while ensuring the venue is always event ready. The main tasks include event set-up, tear down, changeovers, and daily operational work related to concerts, sporting events, meetings, and other events. Technicians may also assist with assembly of furniture, pickups and deliveries, and movement of various equipment throughout the facility. This is a part-time role based in Inglewood, CA, and encompasses a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation with the transition of numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high-profile concerts and NBA games. Your responsibilities will include carrying out the conversion and changeover of the building from event to event, including but not limited to NBA games, college basketball, concert productions, corporate events, and more. You will operate all event setup and teardown equipment, ensuring compliance with Cal. OSHA, Life & Safety, and ADA regulations. This may include the installation and removal of various large heavy components utilized for games, concerts, and other types of events. You will actively care for all venue equipment and property, ensuring proper storage, cleaning, and repair of broken or damaged items, while alerting management of any mistreatment of property. Ensuring customer satisfaction upon the conversion of items and addressing all items in the production notes to meet safety regulations is also a key part of your role. You will be responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the venue, including flooring, chairs, tables, walls, staging, furnishings, and equipment. Proper utilization, organization, and storage of operations supplies and equipment, along with effective inventory storage practices, are essential to guarantee the appropriate supplies and equipment required to perform your duties efficiently. Additionally, you will support Intuit Dome's robust sustainability program and maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the venue. You may also be required to operate industrial vehicles such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and other lifting equipment, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the conversion and changeover of the building from event to event including NBA, college basketball, concert productions, corporate events, and more.
  • Operate all event setup and teardown equipment including stages and platforms, basketball court flooring, basketball goals, scorers' tables, retractable seating, etc. in compliance with Cal. OSHA, Life & Safety, and ADA regulations.
  • Actively care for all venue equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing broken or damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment of property.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction upon the conversion of items and address all items in the production notes to meet safety regulations.
  • Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the venue including flooring, chairs, tables, walls, staging, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Properly utilize, organize and store operations supplies/equipment and perform effective inventory storage practices.
  • Support Intuit Dome's sustainability program.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in the field of facility management preferably in a complex and sophisticated deadline driven environment.
  • OHSA 10 Certification highly preferred.
  • Previous experience and certification operating heavy machinery such as forklift, scissor lift and golf carts preferred.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as business requires.
  • Understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external clients and peers at all levels.
  • Knowledge of and a passion for professional basketball and live entertainment.
  • Ability to receive direction and constructive feedback within a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event management or operations in a sports or entertainment venue.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in facility management.
