The School of Engineering at Brown University is seeking a Coordinator for the ARISE Project, a collaborative initiative involving biomedical engineering programs from Brown University, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, and Yale University. This project is part of a five-year National Science Foundation (NSF) grant aimed at promoting sponsorship and career success for underrepresented scholars in biomedical engineering. The ARISE Alliance focuses on enhancing equity and inclusion by expanding professional networks and opportunities for young scholars in the field, thereby increasing their visibility and professional achievements. The ARISE Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the Principal Investigator's efforts to standardize hiring practices across the four universities. The responsibilities of the Coordinator include managing alliance operations, developing data collection and privacy protocols, overseeing data management and analysis, and preparing reports for NSF. Additionally, the Coordinator will handle communications with partners and participants, maintain the ARISE website and dashboard, and facilitate scholar recruitment and development activities. Collaboration with Coordinators from partner institutions will be essential for organizing regular Zoom meetings and in-person events for all ARISE Alliance partners. This position is fixed-term for five years, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience, with a Master's degree preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Coordinator will also need to demonstrate initiative, judgment, and time management skills, as well as proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, R, and Python. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters and support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures.
