About The Position

The 504 Coordinator at Arkansas Connections Academy is a full-time, 10-month position dedicated to supporting and managing students with 504 plans. This role involves regular consultation with learning coaches and students through various communication methods, including telephone and internet, to ensure that each child successfully completes their instructional program. The coordinator will facilitate the evaluation and eligibility determination for 504 plans, develop these plans, and monitor their implementation to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. In this position, the 504 Coordinator will manage the effective implementation of K-12 504 plans for students on their caseload. Responsibilities include developing, writing, and helping to implement 504 plans, coordinating the Section 504 referral process, providing necessary notices and consents, and facilitating evaluation and eligibility determination team meetings. The coordinator will also schedule and conduct annual or bi-annual reviews for each Section 504 student and participate in the school's Student Support Team to assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and implementing program accommodations for struggling learners. Additionally, the 504 Coordinator will maintain accurate data in the school's Learning Management System for Section 504 students, assist with administering state testing, and coordinate required accommodations based on the 504 plans. Regular attendance at professional development and Section 504 training meetings is expected, along with managing effective K-12 504 plan implementation through intensive monitoring and support. The coordinator will also meet regularly with 504 case managers to provide training and support, and assist in training school staff on their responsibilities regarding Section 504. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
