About the position
The Armed Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated premises, personnel, and assets. This role requires a vigilant and proactive approach to surveillance and conflict management, utilizing military training and law enforcement techniques to prevent loss and respond effectively to incidents. The Armed Guard will work closely with security teams to maintain a secure environment while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect unauthorized activities.
- Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV, to identify potential security threats.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, implementing appropriate conflict management strategies.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs related to security practices.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Current OPOTA certification is required.
- Strong background in military or law enforcement with relevant certifications preferred.
- Proficient in surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies.
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security technology.
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-stress environments.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
