About the position

American Sentry Security is seeking professional armed security officers to ensure safety and security at various sites, including office complexes, retail locations, and government properties. The role requires individuals who demonstrate honesty, dependability, integrity, and professionalism. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, managing conflicts, and making critical decisions that affect the safety of others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure assigned locations, ensuring safety and compliance with security protocols.
• Demonstrate proficiency with firearms and maintain a current Security Firearms Permit, if required.
• Stand for prolonged periods and remain vigilant in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, customers, and team members, maintaining composure in stressful situations.
• Conduct thorough background checks and drug screenings as part of the hiring process.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies, utilizing problem-solving skills to manage conflicts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Possess a current state Security License or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to provide your own firearm (.38-.45 revolver or .380-9mm) if required.
• Pass extensive background checks (no felonies or major misdemeanors) and random drug screens.
• Possess a cellphone capable of supporting the timekeeping app.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of experience in armed or unarmed security.
• Military background or law enforcement/corrections experience.
