About the position
The Armed Security Officer at Northeast Georgia Health System is responsible for ensuring the safety of hospital patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves responding to incidents, conducting patrols, and performing various security-related duties to maintain a secure environment. Officers are expected to document their activities and participate in training drills, while also providing customer service and support to the hospital community.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and random patrols of the facility and grounds.
- Conduct lighting surveys and report hazardous conditions.
- Initiate investigations on security incidents and report findings.
- Participate in training drills and document completion according to policy.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Respond to requests for assistance in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy when handling funds and valuables.
- Develop communication skills to de-escalate confrontational situations.
- Use department equipment correctly and maintain it in good condition.
- Observe CCTV for suspicious activity.
Requirements
- Valid GA Drivers License and current BLS certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of experience in military, police, corrections, or private security.
