About the position

The Communications Integrator at Torch Technologies will support the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) in developing two complex Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) for Armor and Infantry Brigade Combat Teams (BCT) within a 27-month timeframe. This role focuses on providing network recommendations to ensure connectivity in challenging tactical RF environments, coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve network incidents, and translating business requirements into telecommunications designs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents.
  • Translates business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs, and orders.
  • Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts.
  • Assists telecommunications end users and operations personnel with network interfaces.
  • Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents.
  • Coordinates Communications and Networking requirements with Network Working Group.
  • Manages a multi-disciplinary HMIF SEIT and plans the development and delivery of communications and networking requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or Information Technology related field with a network engineering focus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, including military experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with program management, systems engineers, and operations personnel in a concurrent engineering environment.
  • Direct experience with Army network development.
  • 2 years of experience managing network development teams.
  • 2 years in cyber or C4ISR systems, computers, and tactical communications systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to author point papers and policy documents for executive approval.
  • Ability to brief and advise senior officers including flag and SES levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on multi-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.
  • Ability to visualize solutions and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation.
  • Experience with network security, LAN, and WAN.
