About the position

PeopleTec is seeking an Army Robotics Communication Engineer/Integrator to support the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD location. This role focuses on providing wired and wireless network recommendations to ensure connectivity for Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) prototypes in challenging tactical RF environments. The engineer will coordinate with users and sites to resolve network incidents, translate business requirements into telecommunications designs, and perform engineering analysis to support modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents.
  • Translates business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs, and orders.
  • Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts.
  • Assists telecommunications end users and operations personnel with network interfaces.
  • Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents.
  • Coordinates Communications and Networking requirements with Network Working Group.
  • Manages a multi-disciplinary HMIF SEIT and plans the development and delivery of communications and networking requirements for HMIF.

Requirements

  • 6+ years progressively complex experience working collaboratively with program management, systems engineers, schedule analysts, and operations personnel in a concurrent engineering environment.
  • 5+ years of direct experience with Army network development.
  • 2+ years of experience managing network development teams.
  • 2+ years in cyber or C4ISR systems, computers, and tactical communications systems.
  • 6+ years experience can be an equivalent combination of training, work experience, and preferably applicable military experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to author point papers and policy documents for executive approval.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief and advise senior officers including flag and SES levels.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to work on multi-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Network security experience.
