About the position

The Army Robotics Mission Engineer at PeopleTec will support the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD location by collaborating with system users, requirements owners, and developmental contractors. The role focuses on translating operational mission requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements to facilitate the prototyping of Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) for Armor and Infantry BCT formations. This position serves as a critical link between the HMIF pilot and operational requirements, ensuring effective communication and integration of engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, schedule, and provide engineering and technical support activities for systems development and capability integration.
  • Manage communications between the Mission Engineering working group and engineering working groups.
  • Collect information and RFIs from engineering groups and format the information as required.
  • Translate operational vignettes, CONOPS, and mission threads into engineering scope.
  • Prepare recommendations, updates, and/or briefings for the Mission Engineering Working Group Leads as directed.

Requirements

  • 4 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience applying systems engineering and integration principles across hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with the DoD acquisition process and authoring DoD acquisition documentation including systems engineering plans and Performance Based Specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel, and knowledgeable in MS Project.
  • Experience in DoD acquisition programs, with Army experience preferred.
  • Experience evaluating projects to determine the most cost-effective solutions that meet required specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Recent engineering experience with platforms and C4ISR systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD 5000 acquisition lifecycle processes.
  • Superior writing skills for developing technical system-level specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills for generating and delivering briefings to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work on multi-functional/multi-disciplinary teams.
