About the position

Washington Gastroenterology is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician's Assistant (PA-C) to join their gastroenterology medical practice. The role involves delivering comprehensive treatment to patients, both well and sick, while collaborating with the gastroenterology health team. The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) will provide direct patient care, consultation, and education, focusing on improving patient health and managing gastrointestinal diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care autonomously to a case load of patients in a gastroenterology practice
  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems
  • Prescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington State
  • Document patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care
  • Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
  • Participate in clinical research studies as requested
  • Provide infusion clinic coverage as needed
  • May include inpatient hospital coverage as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
  • Current WA State Physician Assistant License required
  • DEA prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current Washington State Driver's license
  • Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
  • Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
  • Current WA State RN License (for ARNP candidates)
  • Current WA State Nurse Practitioner License (for ARNP candidates)
