The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual for the position of Business Systems Analyst I. This is a time-limited full-time role that offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, combining both office and remote work. The position is focused on supporting the Operations Unit in the implementation and management of business and program processes related to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, developing, implementing, administering, and monitoring efficient business and financial systems that align with the goals of the DEQ. As a Business Systems Analyst I, you will evaluate the functionality of business and program application systems, identifying gaps and proposing solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Your role will involve constructing workflow diagrams and flowcharts to pinpoint areas for improvement, collaborating with work unit managers and staff to develop effective workflow process solutions. You will also act as a liaison between various IT stakeholders and the Operations Unit Supervisor, ensuring that strategies are developed to support multiple programs effectively and transparently. In addition to managing multiple projects and timelines, you will proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements, delivering user cases and interface designs as necessary. This position plays a crucial role in the Office of Continuous Improvement, which is responsible for planning and implementing programs and grant administration associated with significant funding initiatives, including the ARPA and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
